24 Hours of Le Mans

A total of 258,500 spectators came to watch this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, third round in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The organisers from the Automobile Club de l’Ouest were delighted to have attracted such a huge crowd.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans remains as successful as ever. Spectators were treated to gorgeous weather, top-flight competitors, nerve-jangling upsets and varied fringe entertainment. Better traffic management and free car parks meant shorter queues and improved conditions for many fans.

It was the racing which brought everyone at the famous circuit and the participants delivered a remarkable spectacle. About an hour before the end of the race an LMP2 car was leading – none other than the spectacular Jackie Chan DC Racing #38. It could not withstand the Porsche might – the German brand took the overall victory. But still, there was excitement and thrills that an LMP2 entry had the chance to really win.

The victory in LM GTE Pro was decided on the final lap after 24 hours of racing! Jonny Adam won it for Aston Martin to thunderous joy from the pit wall and the stands.

There was not so much drama in LM GTE Am where three Ferraris occupied the first three places but the effort was real.
