The Citroen C3 WRC will feature brand-new livery for the 2019 World Rally Championship. Sébastien Ogier – Julien Ingrassia and Esapekka Lappi – Janne Ferm will compete with the French cars next year.
The new C3 WRC look will celebrate the brand’s 100th anniversary
The end of 2018 marks a temporary conclusion for the working relationship between Citroen Racing and Abu Dhabi Racing. The successful relationship began in 2013. It produced nine rally wins (three in 2013, one in 2015, two in 2016, two in 2017 and one in 2018) in the world rally championship. The team thanked Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi for these last five years.
The end of this season equally provides Citroen with an opportunity to offer its heartfelt thanks to Chris Patterson, Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi’s co-driver on his selected annual appearances in the WRC, as well as to Craig Breen, Scott Martin, Mads Østberg, Torstein Eriksen, and the inseparable duo Sébastien Loeb – Daniel Elena. The latter crew were actively involved in creating some of Citroen’s finest moments in rallying. But they all were highly appreciated by the team for their human and sporting qualities and we wish them the very best for the rest of the respective careers.
A new chapter, therefore, begins for Citroen Total WRT in 2019
Two new crews particularly determined to aim high join the team. A new chapter then, the first instalment of which will be the unveiling of the 2019 livery of the C3 WRC. This will happen at the WRC season presentation, which will be on 12 January 2019 at Birmingham’s Autosport International Show. The countdown to the new season will by then be very much underway. And it won’t be long before fans see the French team’s two WRCs – on which further upgrades will be introduced during the off-season – spring back into competitive action.
Ice in the morning, mud in the afternoon: that’s what we call a useful day at the office for @EsapekkaLappi and #JanneFerm!#WRC #MonteCarloPET pic.twitter.com/z1PrjBN48V
