Rain turned the second free practice at Circuit of the Americas in an almost non-action affair as for an hour there was practically no one driving. Only a couple of drivers tried some laps. The last 10 minutes were the busiest. In the end, 15 drivers gave times. The best of them belonged to Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes).

Most of the session went without any action. The cameras followed the drivers in their garages while talking to people from their crews and simply wasting time. There was some karaoke in Red Bull. Lando Norris made about 15 coffees and teas at McLaren. He was even spotted to stir Fernando Alonso’s coffee with a spoon attached to a drill!
