Raikkonen on pole position for the Italian Grand prix
That was Raikkonen’s eighteenth career pole. The Finn’s best lap was 1:19.119min, running on the Supersoft compound. Vettel was also running the Supersoft tyres. Both their laps as well as Hamilton’s time were better than Juan Pablo Montoya’s record from 2004. The SF71H has performed well throughout the weekend so far but the team is well aware that tomorrow is when the points are given out and will be working hard to secure the best possible result.
