Marquez never looked like troubling Lorenzo – fresh off his win in Italy two weeks ago
Lorenzo is a three-time MotoGP champion, however, struggled in 2017 after his switch from Yamaha to Ducati with seventh in the final championship standings. The Spaniard started badly this season with sixth his best position in the first five races. After that, he upped his pace dramatically to win in Italy and now Barcelona.
Marquez was comfortable in second place for the majority of the race. But his bike began to lose power with Rossi ready to pounce. Fortunately for the reigning champion, he managed to fend off Rossi’s Yamaha to clinch second by 1.5 seconds.
