Jan Monchaux is the new Head of Aerodynamics of the Sauber Formula 1 team starting from the beginning of April. Jan Monchaux joins the team from Audi. There he was Head of Vehicle Engineering and Aerodynamics Audi Sport in the past five years. He will take over with immediate effect working in the team led by the Sauber technical director Jörg Zander.

“I’m very much looking forward to the arrival of Jan Monchaux as the new Head of Aerodynamics. It marks an important step of a wider project that aims at strengthening and implementing the team in line with the targets and the results we want to achieve on tracks”, Zander commented.

Jan Monchaux graduated from the French engineering school of aeronautical and space Supaero as well as from the Imperial College London. The French-German engineer worked his way through the ranks in Toyota Motorsport and Scuderia Ferrari. In Maranello, Monchaux was Senior Concept Aerodynamicist from January to September 2010. Then he was a Team Leader Aerodynamics until December 2012.

The latest head of the aerodynamic department, Nicolas Hennel de Beaupreau will probably stay at Hinwil while it is not clear what his new role would be.

The Sauber team goes under structural changes since last season.
