The Renault Sport Formula One Team and LEGO have formed a partnership to mark the 40th anniversary of Renault’s involvement in Formula 1.

Anyone with a passion for F1 and LEGO will find in L’Atelier Renault an R.S.17, built entirely out of LEGO. The exhibition opens on November 30.

Patrice Baheux – General Manager, L’Atelier Renault:

“For many people, Formula 1 is a dream-world to which they can only get close thanks to television coverage of races. At Renault, our motto is ‘making the impossible possible’, and we strive to apply this to everything we do. LEGO, a brand familiar to all, has given us an opportunity to open the doors to the exceptional world of F1. L’Atelier Renault, our brand’s international showcase where passions come to life, orchestrated the operation, which blends creativity and entertainment. We’re very proud of the result!”

Emilie Carle – Head of Communications, LEGO France-Iberia

“The LEGO brand symbolises a powerful world of imagination for our customers. This partnership with Renault F1 was an obvious choice for us. Not only because of the common values we believe in but especially because of our shared passion. Alongside our partner, we are proud to be celebrating Renault’s 40th anniversary in F1 and to be opening the doors of this universe to all of its fans.”

As of tomorrow, the LEGO F1 R.S.17 is on display at L’Atelier Renault. The replica is 5m40. Visitors will receive an invitation to take a seat in the R.S.17 and immortalise the moment with a photograph. As the icing on the cake, L’Atelier Renault has invited Father Christmas to come and share this magical experience during the holidays!

Renault celebrated its 40th anniversary in Formula 1 throughout the whole 2017 season

The team had different events at different locations. One of them was a joint celebration with Disney. The studio marked the 40th anniversary of the release of “Star Wars: A New Hope”. It used the occasion of the Monte Carlo Grand prix to join efforts with Renault and there were special guests in the pitlane.

Another project was the “Yellow Teapot”. The inspiration for this came from the first Renault’s nickname. It broke so often in clouds of smoke that rivals christened it “the yellow teapot”.

Meanwhile, Renault is finishing its work at the Abu Dhabi tyre test. After that, the team will come back home for the holidays, but work on its new car will not cease.

Renault managed to take sixth place in the constructors’ standings for 2017. That meant more prestige but also a bigger share of the prize money.
