Vettel leads Hamilton by six points after five races in the 2017 F1 season. He was second with a time of 1:13.621. They did 40 and 34 laps respectively and their times were better than last year’s pole position of Daniel Ricciardo – 1:13.622.

Max Verstappen was third in the classification, ahead of Hamilton’s Finnish teammate Valtteri Bottas and Ricciardo in fifth.
Jenson Button returned to the cockpit as Fernando Alonso is competing at the Indianapolis 500. The 2009 champion was 14th fastest, and completed 35 trouble-free laps. It was impressive both for him (as he has not been in a Formula 1 car since last November) and for the team
Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) and Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) failed to set a time, due to power unit and gearbox problems respectively.
