Mads Ostberg will participate in the 2017 WRC with a prepared by M-Sport new Ford Fiesta WRC. This will be possible through his family-run Adapta team. Martin Prokop will be Ostberg’s teammate.

“Mads will be in an M-Sport Ford in Sweden, that we can confirm. We are very excited about the year to come. He has tested the 2017 Fiesta twice now, but he will test more before Sweden. We have seen in the recent years what Mads is capable of in Sweden, so it was important for us to be sure to have him in the new car”, the driver’s father Morten Ostberg told autosport.com.

The team’s program start with Rally Sweden (February 9-12)

Mads Ostberg will miss the Mexico event at the beginning of March as it is expected his wife Beate to give birth to their child.
The Norwegian driver was a part of the M-Sport team in 2016. Malcolm Wilson managed to recruit four time WRC world champion Sebastien Ogier and preferred Ott Tanak for his teammate. Thus Ostberg had to find another way of participating in the championship. He competed for the Adapta team from 2007 until 2010 as well as in 2012.

Martin Prokop drives Ford Fiesta since 2012.

“The plan is to do what we did in the 2011 and 2012 seasons, when we were running the car with our own Adapta team under the umbrella of M-Sport. This year it looks like we will be even more independent, working with Martin Prokop’s team from the Czech Republic”, added Ostberg Sr.
