The collaboration between Renault e.dams and Nicolas Prost will cease following the New York ePrix. The French driver has greatly contributed to the first three Teams titles in the Championship’s young history.
Among the first teams to enter Formula E, Renault e.dams has enjoyed all of its successes with the driving duo of Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost. On pole position for the first-ever race – the 2014 Beijing ePrix – Nico is one of six drivers to have participated in every race in the history of the discipline.
34 times in the points from 43 ePrix starts, Prost won the 2015 Miami race and the two 2016 London races. He has two other podium results.
At the conclusion of a more difficult fourth season, Renault e.dams and Nicolas Prost will bring their relationship to an end following the two final races of the season in New York on July 14 and 15
Jean-Paul Driot, team owner: “Nicolas has been one of the pillars at Renault e.dams since its creation. With Sébastien Buemi, they formed a complementary duo of drivers and both have been very involved in the collective performance. We have had some great times together, especially the three Team titles that have rewarded the efforts of both of them. The time has come to turn the page, after an often frustrating season 4 and at the dawn of a new chapter in the history of Formula E. We all wish Nicolas great success in his future endeavours.”
Nicolas Prost added he was happy in the team as well as thrilled for being present “at the very beginning of one of the most innovative motor racing championships of all time”.
“There are so many great memories, like my three race wins and the three Team titles. Of course, I regret season 4 hasn’t gone as well and we believe that it is best that we go our separate ways. I wish e.dams all the luck in the world and I am busy working on my new programme that I hope to announce soon”, Prost said.
