Four-time World Champion and Scuderia Ferrari Driver Sebastian Vettel delighted Shell customers in Sao Paulo. He made a surprise visit to a filling station ahead of this weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix.
Customers in need of some Shell V-Power unleaded fuel were amazed to see the 42-time Grand Prix winner waiting to help fill up their cars. It happened during their morning commute at a filling station only a stone’s throw away from Autódromo José Carlos Pace.
Sebastian Vettel said: “Motorsport fans in Brazil are some of the most passionate we see on the Formula 1 calendar”
“So it was great to surprise a few of them when they were least expecting it. It happened when they filled their cars up with fuel at a Shell station. I always enjoy racing in front of the fans here in Brazil. I hope we are able to give them a good show this weekend. With only two races to go this season I will be looking for a strong result here in Sao Paulo to help finish the year on a positive.”
Meanwhile Ferrari’s boss Maurizio Arrivabene said that Sebastian Vettel needs to remain focussed on his driving.
His comments come in the wake of the Mexican Grand Prix, where Sebastian Vettel controversially burst into a swearing rant over the radio. The driver was punished later but not for his language. He apologized to Racing Director Charlie Whiting and the FIA later with a letter.
Arrivabene insists that Vettel, who won three races for the team last year, needs to keep external factors out of his mind.
“Sebastian just needs to focus on the car. He is a person who gives so much and sometimes this means he is interested in a bit of everything. So sometimes you have to re-focus him, remind him to be focused on the main job”, the Italian told Autosport.
