Citroen team principal Yves Matton is interested to talk to Sebastien Ogier about a deal for next season. But he says he remains committed to his current drivers.
The departure of Volkswagen from the sport at the end of the season has left four-time world champion Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen without a drive for 2017.
“I have the driver line-up for next year, Matton said. – All I will say is that if Sebastien Ogier gives me a call I will answer and we will have a chat. But there’s no question about changing my driver line-up for next season. We took the decision to follow this philosophy. But when you have a four-time world champion, this can be interesting.”
Interested in Ogier is also Toyota. The Japanese manufacturer will return in WRC next season. It already announced that one of the drivers will be Juho Hanninen.
“Some time ago I said that if there is a possibility, I will fight to attract a drivers of the highest rank, the Toyota team boss Tommi Mäkinen told Finnish television MTV. – Currently we maintain a contact with Ogier and Latvala. They are the fastest drivers in the world and should happen a miracle to not be interested in my proposal.”
