Sébastien Ogier won Rally Monte Carlo, first round of the World Rally Championship for 2017. That is a fourth consecutive triumph for the Frenchman at that race. It is also first win for his new team M-Sport and it is taken in their first event together.
“To win with M-Sport at the 1st race after 1 month of preparation is amazing! Thank you so much to the team, you deserve this victory”, were Ogier’s first words after the final. “It doesn’t mean the season will be easy, we know we have to keep working hard, but at least we start with a lot of points so we’re happy!”

Ott Tänak had engine problems during the last day of the rally. The Estonian managed to get to the finish, while losing only one position. Jari-Matti Latvala took second, giving Toyota a podium in the its first race after a 17-year absence from the WRC.
Thierry Neuville was fastes in the Power stage, followed by Stephane Lefebvre and Juho Hanninen. They take five, four and three bonus points respectively. Elfyn Evans and Dani Sordo – fourth and fifth in the stage – took two and one point.
