Sergio Perez gave the best time in the first free practice at the Monza circuit before the Italian Grand prix. The Mexican driver was fastest in the dying seconds of the 90 minutes for preparation when the circuit conditions were at their best.
The day started with heavy rain which subdued in time for the session. The track was even almost dry at the end of the practice time but there still were damp patches at places. The cars were with intermediates and spraying water at Monza.
