Sebastian Vettel was fastest in the third practice session at the Interlagos circuit. The Ferrari driver gave 1:07.948min – 0.217sec better than the time of Lewis Hamilton. Valtteri Bottas with the second Mercedes was third in the standings.

Almost all of the drivers in the top 10 worked with the super soft tyres. The only exception were the Haas drivers who tried the soft compound.
Vettel had a smooth session while Hamilton had some problems. There was some smoke from his Mercedes. When he got back to the pits, the mechanics formed a human wall in front of the car. They found out a dislodged breather pipe and the team announced there were no issues with the power unit.

There were no serious incidents during the session. There’s still a chance for rain later in the day and during qualifying.
