Taking full advantage of his good road position in the starting order of Rally Sweden, Craig Breen demonstrated almost acrobatic skills to reach a great podium. He claimed two stage wins on the first and finishing the leg fourth overall, just five-tenths of a second shy of the top 3.

Feeling very confident in his C3 WRC on the fast stages, Breen then upped his pace again the next day to move into second place, just 4.2 seconds adrift of the leader, thanks to a third stage win. However, the guys behind were in no mood to ease off and he needed broad shoulders to keep them at bay. Still, Craig Breen and Scott Martin managed to hold their nerve on Sunday’s leg to seal second place and with it, secure their best result in the WRC and a fourth podium of the C3 WRC’s short career.

After that Breen admitted he was on the top of the world.

“It was an incredible weekend. I always really enjoyed this rally in the past, but I have to say that I surprised myself this weekend in that I was able to fight at the front throughout the race, without making any mistakes. I thought that quick rallies weren’t for me. But that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. In any event, my C3 WRC was perfect here and it’s great to secure such result for the team – the guys have worked really hard for this.”
